Green Lane in $2M appeal
PA Auckland Green Lane Hospital is launching a $2 million heart appeal because it says Government funding is not keeping up with the hospital’s needs. The hospital said yesterday its ability to treat many heart patients would be jeopardised without the appeal.
The acting superintendent, Dr Toby Whitlock, said the money raised would be essential for the success of the heart unit’s work. Dr Whitlock said hospital funding had not kept pace with the considerable improvements that had been made in the treatment of heart patients.
