By

TIFFANY Dunn,

aged 9, of Akaroa

The roses in the garden are folding tight their petals, The fly is getting tired of playing in the lentils, The cat has decided to stop mauling the mouse, And the lights are going off in the small farm house.

‘The Tiger’

By GAYLE FERGUSON, aged 10, of Somerfield School The tiger crept closer to the deer, His big yellow eyes didn’t blink, The deer were carefree, and didn’t hear, The tiger started to think. He made his plan and crept to the right, His foot struck a thorn

and he have a moan. One deer heard him and in her fright, She left her poor baby alone. The tiger ran to the east, and then to the south. Every deer saw the fawn, Get carried away in his mouth.
