Crowe committed to AH Black wedding

PA Auckland Auckland bowlers may feel relief that the former All Black wing, Stu Wilson, has withdrawn the services of Martin Crowe from the Central Districts line-up for the Shell Trophy match starting at Eden Park on Friday. “There is no show of my playing cricket this week-end as I have a very important engagement,” said Crowe when the New Zealand team arrived in Auckland from Sydney last evening. “I am going to Stu Wilson’s wedding on Sunday.” The. 33-year-old Wilson, who was at the airport to greet the cricketers, said he was having a quiet wedding with just a few friends present. “Her name is Robyn, and

believe it or not her maiden name is Wilson,” he said. "We have known each other for three or four years and been engaged for about six months." Wilson and Crowe have known each other for a number of years.

“We co-own a house and it works out pretty well as I am around to tuck Martin up In bed nice and early and see that his bags are packed on time when he is going on tour,” said Wilson. While Crowe’s absence will be a loss there is further bad news for Central Districts as the two injured Aucklanders in the New Zealand team, the wicket-keeper-batsman, lan Smith, and the off-spin bowler, John Bracewell, are both keen to play if selected.
