A public health nurse, Miss Lauren Briggs, tests Hanna Chaney, aged two and a half months, for tuberculosis while her mother, Mrs Ann Chaney, holds her. The tests at Shirley Health Clinic yesterday are part of a mass screening programme launched by Christchurch health authorities after the discovery of one case of the disease at Burwood Hospital late last year. About 700 women, and babies born at Burwood between June and December, will be tested for the disease.
