Retail sales rise
Seasonally adjusted retail sales rose 0.8 per cent in November compared with a 1.8 per cent rise in October and an 8.1 per cent rise in November, 1986, the Statistics Department said. Total adjusted retail sales rose to $2.218 from $2.198 in October and 519.38 in November, 1986. Clearance given The Commerce Commission has cleared Allied Overseas Investments to acquire up to 49.83 per cent of Wormaid International New Zealand. The clearance was given on January 21.
