Dogs on beaches

Sir,—Dogs are very welcome at Waimairi Beach, at the north end of Broad Park, where there is parking for cars arid a wooden walkway on to the beach. Dogs are prohibited in front of all surf clubs and I suggest that those who object go to the nearest phone and ring the council concerned. There are ; plenty of “Dogs Prohibited” notices and more thought should be given to children who play and sit on the beaches. —Yours, etc.;' OLIVE HUGHES, Hon. ranger, Waimairi District Council. January 21, 1988. .
