Burglars foiled by phone
A man who arrived home to find it being burgled went inside to telephone the police. The burglars, round the back of the Chester Street East house, were oblivious to the owner unlocking the front door and heading for the telephone.
While the police were heading for the address, he investigated to find two men staring in a window along the side of the house. He grabbed one but the other fled. “When we ar- D rived we took him off the owner’s hands,” said
Senior-Sergeant Chris Cole. The man, aged 19, will appear, in the District Court today charged with burglary. The police were confident of locating the second person.
