NZPA-PA London Felix, the 289,500 km jetset cat, took a jumbo home to America yesterday — purring happily as a first class passenger. There was a photo call, a taste of Beluga caviar and. a sniff of champagne befqfre the flight but the two-year-old cat was expected to doze her way
across the Atlantic. '. Felix became a celebrity after she escaped from her traveling box in the hold of a jet on a journey from.’; Europe to California on December 3. In the weeks that followed, she evaded capture, lived on condensed water drops and travelled to 29 countries coffering the equivalent of a jour-
ney seven times round the world. Eventually, on January 1, the bedraggled cat was enticed from the aircraft at Heathrow airport, London, by Pan Am staff and given emergency animal hospital treatment. After a stay at a quarantine centre she was returned to her owner in ' Los Angeles VIP style.
