MINISTRY OF CONSUMER AFFAIRS ADVISORY OFFICER (POLICY) THE MINISTRY OF CONSUMER AFFAIRS is seeking an advisory officer to work in its policy section. This section deals with a diverse range of consumer issues, particulary the need for consumer law reform in selected areas. The work is challenging, and is well suited to those who display Initiative, problem solving ability, and a concern for consumer welfare in New Zealand. The successful applicant for this position will have a tertiary qualification and experience and competence in investigative and analytical work. A qualification or experience in law is strongly preferred. A high standard of report writing in English is also required. The position is the principal planning position in the Council’s administration and carries responsibility for the efficient management of the Planning Section, within the Planning and Control Department. The position requires a person with a graduate qualification in town planning, together with full 6membership of the N.Z. 'Planning Institute and at least 10 years experience in town planning. The principal goal of the Planning Section is to facilitate the orderly development of the County by the judicious use of planning procedures and by toward planning to anticipate its future needs. The salary for the position will be in the range of $41,403-546,273 and relocation assistance is available.
