NZPA-AAP Suva A New Zealand diplomat, Mr Rene Wilson, had taken over as deputy director of the South Pacific Bureau for Economic Co-operation (S.P.E.C.), said the regional organisation. Mr Wilson, who will be responsible for administrative, financial and political matters, succeeds an Australian, Mr Trevor Sofield. Mr Wilson, aged 40, joined the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1975 and more recently was counsellor and Consul-General at the New Zealand Embassy in Jakarta.
