Man’s name released

The name of the man who died when a motorcycle hit a power pole at Kainga on Wednesday evening was given by the police yesterday. He was Nigel Wayne Smythe, aged 19, of Westport.

Another man who was on the motor-cycle has been admitted to Christchurch Hospital with serious head and leg injuries. His name and condition were not available last evening.
