More crime
Violent and sexual crimes in England and Wales rose sharply during the third quarter of 1987 compared to the previous year, Home Office figures showed. Crimes of assault and other personal violence were up by 20 per cent over the same period last year to 38,600 cases and sexual offences rose by 24 per cent to 7200 cases. Robberies increased by 15 per cent to 8200 incidents. The overall rise in all reported rgrime was two par cent. ■— London. A
