Arts Council increases staff

The Queen Elizabeth II Arts Council has added two positions to its permanent staff. They are the deputy director and public affairs manager. The former will be filled by Mr Colin Haynes, who comes to the department from the Department of Social Welfare where he was director of social work development. The public affairs post

will be taken by Mr Peter Cooke. A former media secretary to the Minister of Police, Social Welfare and Women’s Affairs, Mrs Kerens, he has most recently been in the Ministerial Services’ Media Unit. The new positions are intended to allow the council to check the efficiency of its internal administration and raise its public profile.
