S.I. five in team
Five South Islanders have been chosen to represent New Zealand in the Australian schools athletics championships beginning at the end of the week.
Simon Geary (St Bede’s, Christchurch) will compete in the under-17 pole vault and the 100 m; Toni Hodgkins (Golden Bay, Takaka) will compete in the under-17 400 m and
800 m; Steven Boilings (Ashburton) in the under--19 high jump; Richard Lindroos (Shirley Boys, Christchurch) in the 3000 m and 1500 m; and Tania Murray (Logan
Park, Dunedin) is entered in the under-19 high jump. Roger Stephen, of Mountainview H.S., Timaru, is one of three non-travelling reserves.
