Thor Hanover dead

Thor Hanover, Australia’s greatest standardbred sire of all time, died in Victoria yesterday. The 28-year-old Adios entire, which was top Australian sire 10 times was the leading Australian broodmare sire last season, and finished fourth on the over-all sires list.
His best performer from a host of winners was Gammalite, Australia’s first millionaire pacer, a two-time InterDominion champion and Auckland Cup winner.
