Networks Novell low end
New entry-level network software has been announced by Impact, the Novell distributor. ELS Net Ware 286 allows up to four personal computers or work stations to network. It is non-dedicated, that is all four work stations may be used without dedicating any one as an exclusive file server. The price is $ll4O. New Novell Net Ware 386 A file servers have also been announced by Impact. Four new models are based on the 16MHz 80386 processor and support network boards and other peripherals designed for use with the IBM PC/XT/ AT. All of the new releases come as standard with IMB of RAM, two 32-bit slots, five 16-bit slots, one 8-bit slot, two serial ports, and a parallel port. The prices begin at $12,270 for a machine with a 42M8 hard disk, and range to $18,950 for a machine with an 80MB hard disk. The servers have an optional disk processor, which takes a load off the main processor.
