Council promotes date
The Canterbury Promotion Council will commemorate Canterbury Anniversary Day on December 16 with a function at the Canterbury Provincial Building. December 16, 1850, is the date of the first four ships’ arrival, although Anniversary Day is pub-
licly observed on Show Day in November. The winner of the 1987 Canterbury Wine Restaurant Award will be announced at the function. The award is for the Canterbury restaurant with the best Canterbury wine list.
