New members for Q.E. II National Trust Board
PA Wellington Two new members of the Queen Elizabeth II National Trust Board were announced by the Minister of Conservation, Ms Clark, yesterday. Marilyn Waring of Wellsford and Jennifer Seddon of Tauranga have been appointed to the board for a three-year term ending March 31, 1990. “As a former member of Parliament and with a number of contacts throughout the rural com-
munity, Marilyn Waring’s skills and experience will be very useful on the board,” Ms Clark said. Ms Waring is a farmer at Wellsford and also a visiting lecturer in the department of politics at Waikato University. Ms Seddon has been a Tauranga City Councillor for the last 12 years. For much of that time she has chaired the council’s parks and recreation committee. She is a member of the Native Forests Ac-
tion Council and the Royal Forest and Bird Protection Society. “The trust works with a wide range of people and organisations from private landowners to interest groups, local authorities and the Government. With her local background, Jenny Seddon has a significant contribution to make to the trust board,” Ms Clark said. The trust board has 10 members, and at present only two are women.
