Hockey meet
The steering committee which will oversee the amalgamation of the New Zealand men’s and women’s hockey associations in the next 12 months, has held its first meeting. The committee met informally in Wellington recently to establish procedures for a meeting in Christchurch next week- ' end ’ where ’a 1 chairperson e will be appointed. The most urgent task for the committee will be the production of a draft constitution for the new federation, which will be established next November. The constitution will be sent to all member associations seeking their views,
and the final document will be presented for ratification at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Women’s Hockey Association in April, and a special meeting of the New Zealand Hockey Association in the same month. The members of the steering committee are: ©avid/ Appleby (Auckland), Graydon Miskimmin (Wellington), Crichton Christie (Whangarei), Bruce Penfold (Christchurch), Chica Gilmer (Hamilton), Rosemary O’Brien (Wellington), Ann Sutherland (Christchurch) and Margaret Huckstep (Christchurch). Others may be co-opted.
