Escapers may be in Chch
Two prisoners who fled from Auckland’s Mount Eden Prison with three other inmates last October may be in Christchurch, according to the police. They are Simon Allan Kerr, aged 24, who was serving a 33-month sentence, and Kenneth Wayne Welsh, aged v 26, who was serving hine months and was due for release today. * Detective Mike Cron said the Auckland police were looking at the possibility the pair may have travelled to Christchurch. Kerr and Welsh are the only prisoners among the five yet to be recaptured. The men, both Europeans, are considered dangerous. Welsh is 187 cm (6ft 2in)
tall, of medium build with brown hair and blue eyes. He has tattoos on his hands, wrists and arms. Kerr is 182 cm (6ft) tall,
of medium built with brown hair and blue eyes. He has a missing left forefinger and has tattoos around his neck. ?
