Escapers may be in Chch

Two prisoners who fled from Auckland’s Mount Eden Prison with three other inmates last October may be in Christchurch, according to the police. They are Simon Allan Kerr, aged 24, who was serving a 33-month sentence, and Kenneth Wayne Welsh, aged v 26, who was serving hine months and was due for release today. * Detective Mike Cron said the Auckland police were looking at the possibility the pair may have travelled to Christchurch.
