Taylor to coach Manawatu
The former England soccer international, Tommy Taylor, will coach Manawatu United in the 1988 Air New Zealand league. Taylor was previously employed as the coach of Waikato F.C. and his move to Manawatu has obviously been influenced by Waikato’s failure to gain a place in the national league. Taylor made more than 600 appearances for English professional teams and won 35 England caps at various levels. He was in the West Ham side which won the 1975 F.A. Cup final against Fulham.
