Defensive driving
Sir, — I feel that the defensive driving course should be made compulsory for all people wanting their driver’s licences, and not scrapped. I have been driving cars for five years and I did this course back in August after realising that I was not as good a driver as I thought, and also out of interest. A lot was gained through taking this course and I feel that if more people attended these classes, there would be fewer road fatalities and more control and consideration shown on the roads. Not only would it be of benefit to new drivers, but also to those of us already using the road. — Yours, etc., N. R. STACE. November 25,1987.
