Jackson stable top earner
By DAVID MCCARTHY The Riccarton stable of Garth Jackson bids to be the first in Canterbury to top six figures in earnings for the season after the success of Cammalino Star in the Levin Stakes last week.
Her victory in the 325,000 race lifted the stable’s stakes total to 390,800, just over $17,000 ahead of Michael Pitman, who in turn has a substantial lead over Ned Thistoll and Mrs Gail Whitnail in third place. Ray Pankhurst heads
the Canterbury trainer’s list in terms of races won however, with ten, close behind Rex Cochrane and Brian Anderton who share the lead, among South
Island trainers, with 11 successes each. Canterbury trainers whose teams have earned over 330,000 so far this season are:
