| Greyhounds . Dungeon Master has right credentials for testing journey

By STEVE WILSON Dungeon Master should have no problem in stepping up to the extra distance of 805 m, when he contests the Bower Egg Farm Stakes at the Christchurch Greyhound Racing Club’s on-course totalisator meeting at Queen Elizabeth II Park this evening. The class five white and brindle dog finished strongly for second in his last two starts at Otago and Timaru, and looks to have the right credentials to run out this testing journey. Dungeon Master is trained at Weedons by Ray Adcock who produced his fiftieth winner for the season at Dunedin last Thursday, and is now well on the way to break his record of 81 wins, set last season.

Quick Surrender which is another class five greyhound can also be relied upon for for a strong performance. She is trained at Yaldhurst by Bill Werner and he is sure to have the fawn bitch in peak condition.

Liza’s Isle has had more starts over the distance than her seven rivals, and although never appearing to be in the same class as her dam Misty Isle, the fawn bitch’s experience could be to her advantage.

Murray’s Dream which is a finalist in next Monday’s New Zealand St Leger at Wellington and Wadderin Hobbs appear the best of the others, while Mikarla Khan has the breeding to win but has been plagued with

injury problems recently. The winner of the race would be assured of a place in the semi-finals of the 1988 Arnott-Harper Distance Championship which will start at Invercargill on January 14.
