NZPA-Reuter Moscow The Russion leader, Mikhail Gorbachev, gave his first interview to a United States television network on Saturday when NBC filmed him for an hour answering questions on subjects from arms control to human rights, an NBC official said.

The programme will be broadcast in the United States tomorrow (New Zealand time); one week before Mr Gorbachev arrives in Washington for a three-day summit meeting with President Ronald Reagan.

The interview was conducted by the NBC “Nightly News” anchorman, Tom Brokaw. It is expected to be broadcast
