Fiji, Malaysia hold talks
NZPA-AAP Suva The Malaysian Foreign Affairs Minister, Abu Hassan, yesterday began two days of talks with Ministers and officials of Fiji’s republican Government. Mr Hassan, who arrived with four colleagues, leads the first official delegation from a foreign
Government to visit Fiji since it became a republic on October 7, after two' military coups in less than five months. Today, he conferred with Fiji’s Foreign Minister, Filipe Bole, who will leave Suva today on an official visit to China. 1 The Malaysian party
was also to meet the Finance Minister, Josua Cavalevu, and the Primary Industry Minister, Viliame Gonelevu. Today, Mr Hassan will meet the head of Government, Brigadier-General Sitivenl Rabuka, and the former Governor-General, Ratu Sir Penaia Ganilau.
