Man killed by car
PA Whangarei A man died after being hit by a car as he fought with another man in Kaitaia’s main street on Friday evening. He was Darcy William Snowden, aged 26, of Kaitaia. The Whangarei police said Mr Snowden and another man were fighting on North Road at 10.50 p.m. when they both rolled on to the road. The pair were then struck by a car, Both men were seriously injured, and Mr Snowden died while being taken to hospital by ambulance. The other man, whose name was not available from the police, was believed to be in a satisfactory condition.
