NZPA-Reuter Karachi Jansher Khan scored his sixth successive victory over his feHow-Pak-istani, Jahangir Khan, in the final of the Pakistan Masters on Saturday. Jansher, the reigning world champion, who has flushed his arch-rival rorn the pinnacle of world squash after a 9Uyear reign, won 9-2, 5-9, M, 5-9, 9-2 after a marathon tussle lasting two hours 12 minutes. The first game lasted 27 minutes, Jansher storming to an M lead before Jahangir replied. The second game

looked like following the same pattern as the first when Jansher went 3-0 up, but a string of superb shots gave Jahangir a 5-3 lead and he went on to level the match.

Unperturbed, Jansher upped his pace to force Jahangir into a number of errors in the third game which he went on to win 9-4. But five-times world champion Jahangir was far from finished. He went for winners after trailing 5-3 in the next game and won six successive points to level the match at two games

all. In the deciding game Jansher reeled off eight points after trailing 2-1 to complete his sixth victory in two months over a leaden-footed Jahangir. After the match Jansher said he thought Jahangir had looked tired from the third game onwards. “I benefited from that and forced Jahangir to make mistakes.”

Jahangir acknowledged he was tired and said he had not properly prepared for the tournament because of a lot of travelling abroad.
