Love carves out conviction
PA Nelson Love cuts no ice in the District Court at Nelson. A 27-year-old fisherman was convicted for carving his initials and those of the woman he loves on a city park bench. Terrence Rodney Duggan, of Nelson, pleaded guilty to possession of a knife in a public place and to causing intentional damage to a Nelson City Council park seat. Judge Seeman suggested Duggan paint his girlfriend a “nice picture or something” next time he was bored. He convicted and discharged Duggan and ordered forfeiture of the knife.
