NZPA-AAP Sydney The West Australian champion, Village Kid, created pacing history when he led throughout to win the sAust2os,ooo Commodore Miracle Mile (1609 m at Harold Park, Sydney, last evening.

Driven a treat by Perth reinsman Chris Lewis, the gelding recorded a brilliant time of 1:57.70, which is 1.6 of a second outside the race record set last year by Master Mood.

The wjn makes Village Kid the first horse to win the coveted title twice in its 20year history, his previous victory being in January, 1986.
