The furniture includes many walnut, mahogany, rosewood and oak pieces Including, a Victorian rosewood sewing table, an Early Victorian secretaire cum chest, several Victorian chests of drawers, an Early Victorian side table in Burr walnut, an Early Victorian lady’s Cameo back chair, an early oak hanging wall cabinet, scotch chest, refectory type oak dining table and six matching chairs, a large Burslem Doulton Jardiniere and stand, bedroom Jugs and bowls, chiffonier, collection of large oriental panels with ivory and M.O.P. decoration, oak cabinets and tables, occasional tables, chaise longue, gentlemen’s and ladles’ chairs, large figure of girl and wall mirrors etc. The oriental collection includes a superb pair of Satsuma vases, Chinese Jewel box, several good ivory pieces, incense burner in brass, Cloissonne pieces, Japanese ivory handled and sheathed knife, two Japanese kimonos etc. The earthenware includes many R.D. pieces including figure models of Bill Sykes, Fagan and Oliver Twist, several Moorcroft pieces including a large bowl and Jardiniere and many other pieces of Lambeth Doulton, Burslem Doulton, Crown Derby, Hollinshead, Ridgeways, Adams, Sampson, Bridgewood and Sons, C. T. Maling, Royal Dux, Amphora ware etc. The colourful glassware includes many Victorian vases, rare sets of U.K. military glasses, crystal glasses and vases and several Mary Gregory type pieces etc. There is an interesting assortment of Jewellery, including an eight diamond cluster ring, dress rings, pendants, bangles and brooches, gold sovereign case and cigarette case, bracelets and other interesting pieces. Early ceramics include pieces by Minton, R. W. Coalport, F. and R. Pratt, Ltd, Early Derby and Worcester. The plated ware includes a magnificent tea urn, complete with heating iron, two spirit kettles, two biscuit boxes, three piece tea service, canteen of community plate, flatware, candlesticks, five piece condiment set, footed tray, three jewel boxes, handled cake basket, sixteen fish knives and forks and servers, kerosene lamp, trophy cups and many other interesting pieces. The clocks include French and English mantle clocks and a Swedish wall clock. The rugs include a number of attractive Persian and Eastern rugs of good quality. The Objets D’Art include several Japanese paintings on silk, several Jewel caskets, a large figure of a warrior in bronze, a polished wooden canteen and other interesting pieces. Artifacts include a Maori Hei Tiki and Adze. Objets De Vertu include a Victorian ball fan, several scent bottles, Pince-Nez and spectacle case etc. Interesting prints include four early 19th Century Japanese woodcut prints. There are many brass pieces including a large brass warmer, a large ships bell, a Buddha figure, bowls, candlesticks etc. Historical items include four swords, Vol. 3,4, 5 of Cyclopedia of New Zealand, Canterbury, Otago, and Marlborough. Unusual Jim Beam Whisky bottles, Mrs Beaton’s book on household management and an early Chinese gramophone etc. Other pieces include copperware and pewter.
