Williams fined
The Riccarton horseman, Gary Williams, was fined $2OO after being found guilty of careless riding at the Westland Racing Club's meeting at Hokitika on Saturday. Williams, riding leska, was found to have allowed his mount to shift inwards when not sufficiently clear, checking Red Rainee.
Malcolm Kennedy, the trainer of Malak Sapphire, was fined $2OO for the late scratching of the horse from the Hokitika Maiden. Garth Jackson was fined $75 for the late scratching of Yeldham from the Meat Taverns Handicap.
