Chamberlain skittles batsmen

Medium pace bowler, Gary Chamberlain, took the first hat-trick by a North Canterbury player in a representative match as he led his side to a big win over the Christchurch Suburban cricket team at Mandeville Park, Ohoka, yesterday. Chamberlain, who is in the Canterbury Shell training squad, took seven for 29 in Suburban’s first innings of 90 and when it was forced to follow on he again bowled superbly, taking four for 36 including a hat-trick. Chamberlain dismissed the last three batsmen in succession as Suburban crumbled with 126 to lose by an innings and 151 runs.
