$5M deal for Chch
PA Wellington Air New Zealand's Christchurch engineering base has won a big contract to service Royal Australian Air Force engines, propellers and components. The contract, previously held by Ansett Australia, will involve 20,000 man-hours and is worth more than $5 million. The chief maintenance engineer at the Air New Zealand base, Mr Barry Geddes, said: “We were delighted to receive the news. It comes at a time when we are also in the middle of negotiations for another major contract - for maintenance of the National Science Foundation, or Operation Deep Freeze, Hercules transport aircraft.”
The R.A.A.F. tender will consist of work on Dart engines used in a fleet of Hawker Siddeley 7485.
