Colleagues’ tributes

PA Wellington “Norman Jones was a man who served Parliament and the people of New Zealand well,’’ said the Leader of the Opposition, Mr Bolger. “He was forthright, honest and fearless in expressing his views on behalf of the public and his constituency.

“Norman had a warm sympathy and understanding for the average New Zealander, and he will be deeply missed.”

The Prime Minister, Mr Lange, said Mr Jones was one of Parliament’s most remarkable characters. Mr Jones would be affectionately remembered by people of all political shades.
