Tuapeka Knight flown home
The $2 million colt, Tuapeka knight, was flown back to Auckland yesterday at the request of his Ardmore trainer, Brian O’Meara. “I thought he was going to start the last night at Addington and had him in at the trials on Thursday, but Brian rang up on Wednesday to get him sent home,” said the horse’s / reinsman, Bob who has been caring for Tuapeka Knight since his third to Dillon Dean and Top Vance in the Sires’ Stakes Final on Show Day.
“Brian thinks he’s got an infection in his blood,” said Cameron. Meanwhile Tuapeka Knight’s open-class stablemate, Trident, remains at Ashburton with Cameron but is not in work. “He hadn’t been working too good, so the last I heard he is to spell for around six weeks,” said Cameron of the Out to Win entire.
