Mr John Milward, managing director for BP New Zealand (left), will relinquish his position next week to take up a senior position with the British Petroleum Company in Britain. He will continue as a non-executive director of BP New Zealand. Mr Milward’s successor is Mr John Orange (right) previously managing director of BP Olie-Kompag-niet, Denmark. Born in 1942, Mr Orange was educated at Radley College and Trinity College, Dublin. He graduated in law in 1965 and in 1967 joined British Petroleum’s legal department in London, remaining there until 1972 when he transferred to the secretary’s department as Deputy Assistant Secretary. In 1975 he was seconded to the London Office of Iranian Oil Participants (the Consortium) and, in 1977, he took up the position of consortium representative in Teheran. He returned to London in 1979 to head up BP International’s Legal Department. From this position he moved, in 1982, to the position of Regional Co-ordinator, BP International for the Near and Middle East. In mid-1985 he was appointed managing director of BP OlieKompagniet, Denmark.
