Barke family. — Mrs M. Meyers, 20 Chelsea Street, Miramar, Wellington, seeks information on William Ellison Burke (born in Jersey in 1830) and his wife, Laura (nee Caggett; born London in 1833). The Burkes are believed to have migrated from London to Timaru in 1863. They had eight sons, William (1863), Rupert Eglinton (1871). Walter (1876), Lionel (1878), Francis Claude, (?), John and Cecil Waiter was a photographer tor the Christchurch "Weekly Press” until 1898 when he moved to Australia. Carlyle. — Ray Ainge, of 2 Norway Close, Corby, Northants. NNIB 9EG, England, is trying to trace descendants of James Carlyle. A family photograph indicates that Mr Carlyle was once of Waikari. and connected with Boy Scouts about 60 years ago. Other names mentioned at that time were an Ivy and a Hazel. Ceman. — Mr D. Gorens, of <9 Stanwell Road. Penarth. South Glamorgan. Wales, seeks information on New Zealand members of the Cozens family to help complete his research.
