Responsibilities include the management of 32 pumping stations and 5 treatment plants, covering a range of designs. In particular, the Board operates a fluidised bed incinerator for disposing of sludges, this being the first of its kind in Australasia. Applicants should have the qualification of NZCE In Civil or Mechanical, or an equivalent level of education, together with extensive experience In the operation and maintenance of mechanical plant. A detailed knowledge of wastewater treatment processes Is desirable, but not essential.
