Burned pup dies
PA Auckland Pixie, a pup allegedly doused with petrol and set alight two weeks ago, was put down yesterday after she began to develop pneumonia. The West Auckland veterinarian who was looking after her said the pup was starting to suffer, so he decided to put her to sleep. The Auckland Society
for the Prevention Of Cruelty to Animals said members of the public donated $9OO in response to the incident The S.P.C.A. director, Mr Bob Kerridge, said the society received many touching letters, from as far as Invercargill. . Two youths, fl aged 17 and 18, will appear In the Henderson District Court today charged P n 1 with aggravated cruelty.
