Rescuers find airliner wreckage
NZPA-AP Barni, Italy As dawn broke yesterday, rescue workers spotted the wreckage of an Italian airliner which crashed in the northern foothills of the Italian Alps. There was no immediate word on survivors among the 37 people aboard.
The ATI flight from Milan to Cologne, West Germany, crashed into Mount Crezzo near Lake Como, during a heavy rainstorm on Thursday evening. ATI is a subsidiary of the State-owned line, Alitalia. The wreckage was spotted at an altitude of 730 m above sea level.
