Road constuctlon metal could be made available from this Quarry for a new 8 kilometre road from S.H. No. Ito a new Mount Ruapehu skl-fleld. RANGIPO NORTH 5C AND 4C BLOCKS, He at a lower altitude to 6C and 7C Blocks. Both these blocks again have alongr frontage to S.H. No. 1 and the upper Tongarlro River and lend themselves to recreational development, production afforestation and with 4C Block, some domestic and deer farming development. This 4C Block has a sealed road running through Its centre giving access to the upper Tongarlro River and its white-water rafting potential and direct access to the Kalmanawa State Forest Park and its recreational areas. Because of the location of these large blocks of land part of or close to the geothermal fields south of Lake Taupo, there may be a potential resource present for the extraction and large scale use of geothermal energy. These Ranglpo North lands are vested In Trustees who on behalf of their beneficial owners, seek to obtain a reasonable financial return to their beneficiaries and In addition, pay for the local authority rates levied on these properties.
