DEPARTMENT OF CONSERVATION APPLICATION TO OPERATE A COMMERCIAL JET BOAT SERVICE WITHIN MOUNT ASIRING NATIONAL PARK AN application has been received from Mr Ronald G. Stewart of Invercargill, for a concession licence to operate a commercial Jet boating service on the Dart River within Mount Aspiring National Park. It is proposed to conduct parties of up to four people as far as Daleys Flat within the Park for recreational fishing. The true left bank of the Dart River is zoned Natural Environment B and the true right bank is zoned Natural Environment A, apart from the Special Area around the Slip Stream. A muffled exhaust system will be used to reduce engine noise and trips will take place only when conditions permit safe boating and good fishing.
