Knowledge of the fields or related fields, or some familiarity with procedures based on statute and case law would be preferred, but full training will be supplied. The successful applicant will be assigned to the multidisciplinary Strategic Planning Section (formerly the Data and Policy Team) of the Department’s City Development Division. Previous relevant experience would be an advantage but is not essential. The Sections functions include: • Analysing demographic, economic, development and other trends, assessing future possibilities and recommending policy responses. • Maintaining an information system and handling a wide range of requests for data and analy- • Economic and statistical,analysis and the carrying out of surveys. • Consideration of maritime and regional planning matters and the evaluation of major development proposals. You should have qualifications and/or experience relevant to analysis of urban planning Issues. A wide range of academic backgrounds may be appropriate for this position.
