Dog in park

Sir, —There seems that there is always someone who sees beauty in nature, even if this beauty iS none other: than dog excreta. Yes, I must agree with H. van Zanten (October 15) that dog excreta will wash away in time, but should the general public wishing to walk on footpaths and in parks be forced to put up with this filth? Dog owners must be made responsible for their dogs and ensure that dogs are trained to leave their excreta on the owners’ properties and not in public places. Remember the slogan, “Parks for people.” --- Yours, etc., .

L. COXON. October 15, 1987.
