Another name for seal
The seal found on Waimairi Beach last Sunday has had a name change — Sealia is now Seacil, as he is a male and not a female as previously thought. Seacil is at the Ferry Road Animal Hospital recovering from gastric problems, and will not be released for at least a
week because he does not have enough body fat. Meanwhile, he is very hungry, and hospital staff say they would welcome donations of whole fresh fish. "Anyone fishing on the week-end can drop the fish off at the hospital between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday,”
said Mrs Beverley Broad, a hospital co-owner. The hospital’s doors are not open 24-hours as reported in “The Press’’ yesterday. There is an emergency service at night, but people must telephone first During the week the hospital is open between 8 a.m. and 7.30 p.m.
