PA Wellington Twelve petitions asking for legal status to be given to the unborn child on conception were presented to Parliament when it resumed at 2 p.m. yesterday. The annual reports of the Testing Laboratory Registration Council of New Zealand and Be Vocational Training Counjp were presented.
A report for the three months ending March 31, 1987, from the Parliamentary Commissioner for the Environment was tabled. Ministers answered 19 questions. Mr D. Robinson (Lab., Manawatu) presented the report of the Planning and Development Select Committee on the estimates of the Earthquake and War Damage Commission and the Parliamentary Commission for the Environment . . Regulations Review Select Committee's report on its inquiry of geothermal regulations. The committee stage of the Appropriation Bill began. Debate was interrupted when the House rose for dinner at 5.30 p.m. Debate continued when the House resumed at 7.30 p.m. The committee reported back to the Speaker, and sought further time for debate on the Justice estimates. The House rose at 10.30 p.m.
