Choirs festival

The thirty-ninth Community Choir Festival will be held on Sunday, at 2.15 p.m. at the Christchurch Assemblies of God Church, Tuam Street. The six choirs, Addington Workshops W.E.A. Male Voice Choir, Aeolian Choir, Cantabile Singers, Canterbury Singers, Risingholme Community Choir and South Brighton Choral society will sing a variety of music including “Let There Be Peace on Earth,” “You’ll Never

Walk Alone,” “I’ll Walk With God,” “Tom Cats,” “A Feline Fantasy of Two Backyard Dictators,” “Ringlet and Wreathlet” and “The White Horse Inn.” This year the Christchurch Orchestral Society will play “Four Hungarian Dances” and Rimsky Korsakov’s “Song of India.” The musicians will also accompany the choirs in some massed items under the baton of Frank Dennis.
