Psychiatrist appointed
PA Auckland An adolescent and child psychiatrist has been appointed acting medical superintendent of Carrington Hospital. Dr Peter McGeorge, who works at the Marinoto child health clinic, will take over the post for a six-month period. The Auckland Hospital Board’s superintendent-in-chief, Dr Leslie Honeyman, has been in the post since Carrington’s medical superintendent, Dr John Radcliffe, was transferred to a new job recently. Dr McGeorge has been, chairman of the Auckland Council of Psychiatrists and was also a member of the Roper Committee that examined violence.
