Family Benefit
Sir,—lf S. s L Donaldson inquired further I am sure he or she would find most women shop armed with cheque book and credit cards because it is safer than carrying the amounts of cash required for most purchases and nothing whatever to do with whether they can afford to do without Family Benefit. As one of the majority middle-income
families, the Family Benefit Is an essential part of our budget and I would be loath to do without tt. To have even this paltry benefit means-tested would be an insult to those families which don’t qualify for, the more generous Family Support—Yours, etc., B.E. BRILL October 1,1987.
